Fraiche Kitchen
While not a restaurant, not quite a caterer and not just a school, Fraiche Kitchen is an enthusiastic partner in our Right Bite program. Fraiche Kitchen, created by Dennis Ryan (Green City Market) and Megan Munitz (NoMI and Spiaggia), works tirelessly to increase awareness and access to local sustainable food. Whether it's a cooking lesson in your home, a seminar in the office, or a workshop at school, Fraiche Kitchen helps us spread the word about sustainable seafood — the issues as well as delicious choices. Some favorites include buttery black cod and delectable arctic char. Through its nonprofit, Fresh Connections, it helps increase access to local food by connecting local farmers with the community and educating everyone about the value and importance of sustainability. Look for Fraiche Kitchen at your schools and offices — staff members will always have the Right Bite wallet card on hand, and they can't wait to talk with you about sustainable seafood.
Greg Christian Catering
We have been inspired by Greg and his team for years, so we just had to include them on our Right Bite partner roster. Greg is well-known in Chicago as the "Conscious Caterer," and his catering menu reflects his belief that food can heal the world. As an active and inspirational member of Chicago's green community, Greg is working hard to bring organic local foods to schoolchildren through an innovative partnership with the food service division of the Chicago Public Schools. He also recently unveiled his zero-waste kitchen: Everything that passes through his kitchen is either composted or recycled! Sustainable seafood fits nicely on the Greg Christian catering menu, and his team and ours are working closely to bring great options to their clients.
