Right Bite Caterers

Caterers specialize in personalized, innovative menus for special events in clients' lives. The close working relationship between caterer and client provides a unique opportunity to influence menu choices that are perfect for events and healthy for our planet. Right Bite is proud to partner with several Chicago-area caterers to raise awareness about seafood issues while celebrating the delicious sustainable options available in our marketplace.

Right Bite caterers receive staff training on seafood issues provided by Shedd experts. The caterers pledge to offer at least two sustainable seafood dishes at all times and, if applicable, to permanently remove at least one unsustainable choice from their menus. Shedd Aquarium is committed to helping our partners find and offer the highest quality and most environmentally friendly seafood available. Our caterer partners know that we mean business when it comes to sustainable seafood, but equally as important, our partners know that we care about their business.

City Provisions
The Right Bite team first met City Provisions owner Cleetus Friedman at one of his fantastic supper clubs. Within five minutes, his passion for sustainability became obvious. Hear Cleetus enthusiastically chat about sustainable seafood in the Chicago Public Radio segment, Eating Sustainable Seafood in Chicago.

Food for Thought
We suspected that the food service provider for Adler Planetarium, Food for Thought, was out of this world, and our suspicions proved correct! Try one of Executive Chef Chris Opper’s delicious and sustainable recipes, aji panca pan-fried farm-raised catfish with yellow tomato and sweet potato.

Hel’s Kitchen
Not to be confused with Chef Gordon Ramsay’s cooking drama, this Hel’s Kitchen is one of the greenest caterers around! Michelle Jost, director of sustainable practices, selected Hel’s to cater her upcoming wedding, thanks to their commitment to serve Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified seafood whenever possible.

Monogramme Events & Catering
Chef Melissa Graham of Monogramme Events & Catering has an especially soft spot for sustainable seafood. As a child on Long Island, she enjoyed her mother’s homemade clam chowder. Create your own seafood memories by trying Melissa’s whitefish diablo with fennel-olive relish.
