Regular fall/winter hours, Sept. 4 to Memorial Day
9 a.m to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays
Special Spring Break Hours
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Saturday, March 16, through Sunday, March 31. Ticket sales will end at 5:15 p.m.
9 a.m to 8 p.m. - Monday, April 1, Tuesday, April 2, Thursday, April 4, and Friday, April 5. Ticket sales will end at 7:15 p.m.
On Wednesday, April 3, Shedd will close at 6 p.m. Ticket sales will end at 5:15 p.m.
Tips for a Great Visit 
Arrive early. Not only will you have the best views of your favorite animals, but it’s the best time to get up-close to your favorite animals.
Buy your tickets in advance to avoid waiting in line to get in. Purchase your tickets online at Ticketmaster.com and print at home for immediate entry.

Dress for comfort. The weather in Chicago can be tricky in early spring, so be sure to look for weather updates prior to your arrival.
Pack light. If you’re traveling with a toddler, we recommend using an umbrella stroller. It’s easier than larger models for negotiating exhibits and elevators.
Take public transportation to the aquarium. It's cheaper than driving and parking, and the CTA delivers you almost to our door.
Plan your visit before you arrive with one of our self-guided Ten Fun Finds tours. Concentrate on several select exhibits rather than rushing to “do” the whole aquarium.
Take breaks! Shedd's aquatic show and the 4-D Experience give you a chance to sit down.
