Title: Field evaluator
Status: Part-time, temporary
Department: Audience Research and Evaluation
General Description:
This department conducts market research, evaluates exhibits/programs and tracks the aquarium’s progress. Various departments use the information to assist in planning, to identify problems, or to test alternatives. The field researcher assists in data collection for the day-to-day operations and special projects associated with the Audience Research and Evaluation Department.

Job Responsibilities:
Collect data (exit interviews, exhibit surveys and observations) for various studies on the aquarium floor.

Data entry for various studies:
• Manage data collection supplies on the aquarium floor, such as signs, tables, chairs, etc.
• Maintain records and reports
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Position Specifications:
Preferably an undergraduate student working toward a degree in museum studies, education, marketing, social sciences, or a related field or bachelor’s degree in listed areas.
Must be comfortable approaching aquarium guests to collect data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Detailed-oriented and able to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Able to work independently, as well as cooperatively with other Shedd staffers and members of the public.

Competency with Microsoft Office programs.

Schedule is 1 to 2 days a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays) and weekends (4 to 10 hours a week).
