Special Photo Exhibit: Expedition Danajon Bank
Amid the sharks, rays and corals of the Wild Reef exhibit, immerse yourself in an inspiring photo exhibition organized by Project Seahorse and the International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) to support conservation of Philippines reefs.
Danajon Bank is a double barrier reef in the Philippines, one of only six in the world. Home to 200 threatened species, it is regarded by scientists as the “center of the center of biodiversity” in the Pacific. Many fishes and other marine animals are thought to have evolved there. In April 2013, a team of scientists and photographers from Project Seahorse, one of Shedd’s conservation partners, and iLCP documented the reef in all of its beauty and all of its threats to increase protections for Danajon Bank and reefs everywhere.
Expedition Danajon Bank opens August 9 and is free with admission to Wild Reef.
