Here's How You Can Help!

Volunteer!

Roll your sleeves up and get your hands dirty to keep the lakes great with Shedd Aquarium’s Great Lakes Action DaysIn 2014, 1,191 volunteers and Shedd staff members collected 2,861 pounds of trash from local beaches during Great Lakes Action Days! You can make a difference too—join us for Great Lakes Action Days in 2015 and help restore Lake Michigan’s southern shoreline for wildlife and for you, too.

For Teens:
Shedd Stewards: Team up with Chicago-area teens to monitor, maintain and improve local habitats. Participants can also earn service-learning hours.

Give!

You can also help the Great Lakes by donating to Shedd Aquarium's annual fund. Donations to Shedd support animal care, education programs, community access, sustainability practices and conservation initiatives. Become a partner in all that Shedd does—please give now.

Learn!

High School Lake Ecology: Join us as we discover the beauty of Lake Superior's natural treasures while learning about aquatic science and exploring the ecology of the Great Lakes region in the Apostle Islands with Shedd Aquarium staff members.

Learning Programs: At Shedd, learning programs enhance the student experience. By focusing on a specific theme and science skills, students explore new perspectives and gain hands-on science experience with Shedd experts.
