Park Voyagers Program

Through Park Voyagers, Shedd comes to you at your local field house or park! This free program, developed and operated collectively by Museums in the Park, provides children and families from all over Chicago with hands-on aquarium activities. The program includes after-school and evening workshops in local park district facilities and facilitated museum visits for children and their families.

Environmental education programs are powered in part by support from Exelon.

Program Outcomes

Every Shedd program is evaluated so we never stop learning from you. Here’s what we’ve learned about Park Voyagers:

• The after-school and family workshops attract diverse families, representing multiple ethnicities, income levels and areas of the city.

• All participating families said they would recommend the program to friends and neighbors.

• Parents feel the program provides: quality family time, exposure to Chicago museums and what makes each one unique, hands-on activities that were fun and educational for children and adults.
