Please make a difference for animals that depend on healthy oceans with your generous gift to Shedd Aquarium’s annual fund this World Oceans day, June 8.
You’ll be helping beluga whales, sea otters and penguins – beloved species that Shedd’s conservation and rescue teams are protecting in the wild.
You’ll also help animals that depend on healthy coastal or island environments, like the endangered Bahamian rock iguanas that have been the focus of Dr. Chuck Knapp’s fieldwork for 20 years. Informed by Shedd’s long-term life history and population studies, in 2009 the Bahamas government expanded a land-and-sea national park on Andros Island to protect the iguanas’ critical habitat.
Shedd’s conservation and rescue and rehabilitation programs are getting results around the world, from South Africa to Guyana to the Bahamas to the Great Lakes. The infographics below highlight how your gift to Shedd’s annual fund on World Oceans Day will help so many animals, near and far. Working together, we can make a big difference!
