The Shedd Auxiliary Board is a dynamic group of the young leaders and professionals of our community.
The Auxiliary Board was created in 1992 as a way to get “young professionals” connected to Shedd, with the hope that they would continue to support the institution far into the future. Our Board has continued to grow, and remains committed to our mission:
The mission of the Auxiliary Board is to support the John G. Shedd Aquarium and its Board of Trustees by actively developing new sources of support and increasing public awareness of the aquarium’s exhibits, research, conservation, and education programs. Auxiliary Board Members receive the benefits of Shedd membership, as well as unique opportunities to volunteer on committees, and invitations to social and educational programs throughout the year.
