My Shedd journey began 15 years ago as a kindergartener in the Summer Worlds Tour camp, a joint project of Shedd Aquarium and two other museums.
Last year I participated in Shedd’s High School Lake Ecology (HSLE), a teen program that gave me the chance explore the unique ecosystems of the Apostle Islands.
The letters HSMB don’t just stand for High School Marine Biology. For me, and for other lucky teens over the last 40 years, they have represented a doorway into the watery part of our world.
My name is Jori Nelson and I’m an intern at Shedd Aquarium. This summer I have been working in the environmental quality lab to learn more about the inner workings of this fantastic Chicago museum.
Hear firsthand from Adrian Favela why they love hanging out at the Teen Learning Lab at Shedd.
