The coordinator of foundation and government relations researches, develops and writes unrestricted and restricted grant requests, proposals, and reports for the aquarium and its conservation education programs. The person will become knowledgeable about the aquarium overall and with specific departments to facilitate raising funds for conservation, education, public relations, facilities and exhibits. As needed, this person will participate in site visits with and tours for donors.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. Three years experience in government and foundation grant writing or fundraising needed. The candidate must have a strong and versatile writing background, with the ability to prepare a variety of materials. Experience in researching funding sources and facilitating program development. Excellent computer skills, word processing, and Raisers Edge database knowledge. The candidate needs to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. The ability to work independently and under a tight deadline also expected.
