There’s an ocean of learning at Shedd.

And right now, there's an art contest, too. How does the ocean inspire you? Show us by submitting an original piece of artwork. The Coastal America Foundation is sponsoring the Artistic Expressions of Ocean Literacy art contest for students from kindergarten through undergraduate college. So brush up on the contest details. Then learn more about the Seven Essential Principles of Ocean Literacy. Winners will attend a celebration in Washington, D.C., and their artwork will be displayed around the country. But get busy! Artwork must be submitted to Shedd Aquarium's information booth, located in the Kovler Family Hall (main foyer), by Thursday, May 22, 2008.

Shedd's high school lake ecology program, aboard Discovery World's schooner S/V Denis Sullivan, introduces students to Lake Michigan's aquatic and terrestrial environments.

Shedd is a textbook that explodes to life. Let us grab your attention and expand your horizons. We’ve got great programs and extremely cool teachers.

Ocean literacy art contest

Students ranging from kindergarteners to college undergrads are invited to express their love and knowledge of the world’s ocean through art. The Artistic Expressions of Ocean Literacy art contest is sponsored by Shedd and the Coastal America Foundation.

Get the details, and then get creative! You have until THURSDAY, MAY 22,
to enter your artwork at Shedd's infomation booth in the main foyer. (This deadline allows judging time at Shedd to meet the national deadline noted in the rules. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion.)
