Animal Encounters
Meet an animal closeup. Explore your connections to animals such as cockroaches, frogs, turtles, snakes and more during a live-animal program.

Marine Mammal Presentations
Go on a dolphin- and whale-watching trip. See some of the amazing natural behaviors of dolphins and whales such as diving, spyhopping and tail walking.
Times: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. (weekends and holidays) 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. (weekdays)

Caribbean Reef Presentations
Talk to one of our divers while he or she is underwater feeding more than 300 reef animals. A sea turtle, rays, sharks and a rainbow of schooling fishes all call the Caribbean Reef home.

Shedd offers activities created especially for the preschool set. "Tots on Tuesdays" includes story times, crafts, animal touch programs, videos, costumed characters, dancing and singing.

BLU
Saturday, July 26
Make your reservations now for BLU, the hottest party — with the best view — on Venetian Night. Enjoy a cocktail reception around the Caribbean Reef, then take an exclusive seat on Shedd's north terrace to watch the festivities and the fireworks. Finish the evening with more cocktails, light refreshments and entertainment in the aquarium. Proceeds support Shedd's Great Lakes Conservation Awareness initiative. Find out more.

"Lizards and the Komodo King" special exhibit
Through summer of 2008
Faust, the Komodo dragon, with his court of 25 other lizard species, continues his reign at Shedd. Whether you're planning your first visit to "Lizards" or your fifth, Faust, at 154 pounds, will amaze you. But so will the wall-walking geckos, camouflaged chameleons, busy bearded dragons and all the others. Faust is the first live Komodo dragon ever on display in Chicago, so take advantage of this extended opportunity to see him — again and again! Lizards and the Komodo King is sponsored by Motorola and the Motorola Foundation.
