The human resources intern works closely with members of the Human Resources Department to learn all aspects of staff recruiting, benefits and staff training. Also works with recruiter to analyze recruiting sources and research additional sources to expand our diversity recruiting efforts. Responds to résumé inquiries submitted via e-mail or mail. Assists with developing job postings, recruiting sourcing and prescreening applicants. Observes recruiter in the employment interviewing process. Sorts and distributes résumés to appropriate departments. Assists with reference checks. Processes and files employment résumés. Works with personnel and benefits specialist to create and maintain Wellness Works bulletin board and other benefits projects. Assists staff training with special projects and tasks. Other duties as assigned.
Should currently be attending college, studying human resources management. Previous internship or job in human resources helpful, but not required. Ability to handle multiple projects. Good communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality. Proficient with Word and Excel. A strong desire to learn about human resources. Flexible time frame. Looking for a three-month commitment. Spring/summer/fall/winter opportunities. This is an unpaid internship.
