Delivers evening and weekend public programs, including youth, family, adult and overnight programs. Assists public program coordinators with program development and marketing. Maintains supplies and equipment for public programs. Codesigns experiences and writes lesson plans for various on-site and off-site public programs. Facilitates on-site and off-site daytime, evening, weekend and overnight programs. Maintains resources and assists in the ordering of supplies, equipment and materials needed to deliver all on-site and off-site public programs. Supports youth and family and adult programs evaluation and marketing efforts. Participates in aquariumwide and interdepartmental teams as needed. Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in education, life and environmental sciences, or related field required. Minimum of one year's experience teaching in either a classroom or informal setting. Museum experience preferred. Experience working with a variety of age groups. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to frequently work evenings, weekends and holidays, including overnight events. Ability to travel for field programs. Good swimming skills. CPR and first-aid certification preferred. Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and insurance. Must be able to do moderate lifting (involves loading and unloading equipment from vehicles.)
