The special events intern will work closely with the assistant director/donor relations in the development department, to implement programs for the Auxiliary Board and Society. He or she will assist with multiple aspects of donor relations, special events and development activities included but not limited to: Spring Break, BLU, the Board of Trustees Gala, cocktail parties, dinners, meetings, tours and other donor-related activities. The intern will also collaborate with the assistant director/donor relations to plan and oversee activities associated with the Auxiliary Board and Society committees. In addition, the intern will help maintain Auxiliary Society Web site and all event Web pages.
Ideal special event intern candidates will be college juniors or seniors majoring in communications, marketing, public relations, or other related field. Interns should have experience/interest in special-event planning and management. Volunteer supervision experience helpful. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Computer literate in Microsoft Word/Microsoft Office. Occasional evening and/or weekend hours required. This is an unpaid internship.
