The health of the ecosystem we all share! The Great Lakes have been invaded by more than 180 non-native species. Their waters have been contaminated by pollutants and their underwater and shoreline habitats degraded. Now climate change is affecting lake levels and temperatures. The stakes are high. But these threats are driving innovation and creativity in science, resource management and the marketplace and inspiring the Great Lakes community to meet these challenges head-on.
Each of us can make a difference in our homes, our communities and across the basin. Even the smallest action can have a big impact, so let’s reconnect with and redefine our relationship with the waters we call home and keep the lakes great for future generations.
