Teen Programs (Ages 15 to 18)

Test the waters of new interests or take a deeper dive into your passions with one (or more) of our programs, designed to help you explore animals and the aquatic world.

Teen Learning Lab

Teens are invited to use our Teen Learning Lab to make new friends, work on projects or programs and more! Our equipment and technology are for their use, and Shedd experts will be there as a resource!

Teen Work StudyIn the Teen Work-Study program, develop your communication skills and deepen your connection to Shedd’s animals and mission through a professional paid work experience.

High School Lake EcologyCamp, kayak and canoe on North America’s largest freshwater lake during Shedd's High School Lake Ecology (HSLE) program. No experience necessary!

High School Marine Biology

Travel to the Bahamas aboard Shedd’s research vessel, the R/V Coral Reef II and experience the life of a marine science researcher firsthand as part of High School Marine Biology (HSMB).

Shedd Stewards

Become a Shedd Steward and team up with Chicago-area teens to monitor, maintain and improve local habitats. Participants can also earn service-learning hours.

 Club SheddDo you have what it takes to be in the club? Club Shedd provides teens with skill-building opportunities and workshops to help them develop solutions that could impact the aquarium.
