Brian Gill cultivates and maintains relationships with government, civic and political stakeholders on behalf of the aquarium, and implements comprehensive engagement initiatives that amplify the leadership and collective impact of Shedd and its mission.

Brian Gill oversees the aquarium’s government relations, legislative and policy agenda. Through developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, elected officials, and agencies, Gill works to influence conservation, operations, funding, economic impact, sustainability, DEAI, tourism, and other priorities on the local, state, and federal level.
Prior to joining Shedd, Gill served as Federal Policy Director for the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) where he led the organization’s efforts to engage on environmental policy at the federal level. He also previously consulted for foundations, non-profits and political campaigns on community engagement strategy, campaign execution and program design. Additionally, Gill spent time in federal government where he worked in legislative affairs for the U.S. Department of Defense and for the White House Office of Management and Budget. Gill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Colorado.
