Who can attend

Participants must be currently enrolled in K to fifth grade in a Chicago public school.

Requirements to participate

Parents and guardians are required to complete a Registration Packet. This packet will be provided at the time of purchase on the confirmation page and through email. This packet includes a participant information form, a participation waiver, a medical history form, and a drop-off/pick-up authorization form. All documents must be signed by a legal guardian.

Drop-off and pick-up

Please arrive and depart at the bus turnaround on the south side of Shedd Aquarium. Drop-off takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Pick-up is between 3 and 5 p.m. A penalty will be assessed for late pick-ups.

What is included

A day of hands-on science activities, animal encounters and habitat exploration at Shedd Aquarium. Camp runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and aftercare runs from 3 to 5 p.m. Aftercare is included in the program fee.

What is not included

Meals and snacks are not included. Please send your child(ren) with a peanut- and tree-nut-free lunch and snack each day.

Accessibility

Program includes:

  • Use of stairs; elevators are available.
  • Sitting on the floor for activities; chairs and tables are available.
  • Moving around the aquarium for up to one hour at a time.
  • Moving around the aquarium, which has varying light, noise and temperature levels.
