Teen Learning Lab

The Teen Learning Lab is a space at Shedd Aquarium designed by teens for teens. Follow your curiosity about science, animals, art and the natural world. You are invited to use this free space to make new friends, work on projects and explore careers in aquatic science.

What's happening in the Teen Learning Lab?

Something is happening every day the Teen Learning Lab is open. We periodically host new teen orientations, guest mentors and workshops. A full schedule of lab hours and events is available online on our Calendar page. Several ongoing research, art and technology projects are happening throughout the year; you can find more about them on our Current Projects page.

Get Involved

When you’re ready to dive into the Teen Learning Lab, start with one of our new teen orientations, where we’ll introduce you to the mentors, projects and resources available within the lab—see our calendar for dates.

Before your first visit, complete this survey to let us know what you’d like to explore in the lab. If you have a specific project in mind, email teenlab@sheddaquarium.org to get started.

•Teens build confidence and career skills through participation in mentoring sessions.
