Explore your interests in science and the natural world in a space that’s designed by teens, for teens.
High school students can use this high-tech space free! We'll connect you with other science-minded teens and Shedd experts to spark amazing synergies.
Teens are invited to use this space to make new friends, work on projects or programs, or conduct their own science experiments. Our equipment and technology are for their use, and Shedd experts will be there as a resource!
The possibilities are endless! Teens can connect with Shedd mentors; produce videos, audio, podcasts and photos; conduct scientific research; lead or participate in stewardship activities; receive assistance with projects; hang out, study, read, or engage in social media activities.
Apple MacBook Pros and Mac Pros, podcasting equipment, iPads, scanners, iPod docking stations, printers, Smart Board and Adobe Software Suite (including Photoshop and Illustrator) and iMovie.

Every Shedd program is evaluated so we never stop learning from you. Here’s what we’ve learned from our participants about our Teen Learning Lab:
• Teens make connections between what is available to them in the Teen Learning Lab and projects they are working on for school and other extracurricular activities and interests.
• Teens demonstrate multiple learning connections that are interest-powered, academically oriented, peer-supported, production-centered and environmentally motivated.
• Designed for and by teens, the lab gives teens access to technology and other resources.
