Aquarium Ambassadors
Spark curiosity, compassion and conservation for the aquatic animal world with Shedd’s diverse audiences. Share amazing animal stories in exhibits, connect guests to animals at touch pool habitats and in learning labs, and inspire conservation through hands-on activities both at the aquarium and in the community. After general Aquarium Ambassador training, volunteers will receive specialized training in one of the following Ambassador roles of their choice. Additional Ambassador roles can be acquired upon completion of initial commitment.
We welcome volunteers at all levels of knowledge, from beginner to expert! All necessary training will be provided.

These volunteers engage primarily with school groups and chaperones but may also interact with other aquarium guests during operating hours and special events. Ages 18+ only. Greatest need is Tuesday through Friday.

Successful applicants who complete the general onboarding process will receive additional specialized training for the Ambassador role of their choice. Additional Ambassador roles can be acquired upon completion of initial commitment. See our "FAQs" for the general volunteer onboarding process.
