Filming and Access
All members of the media covering a story related to Shedd Aquarium must contact Shedd’s Public Relations department to request interviews or filming access before admittance to the aquarium will be permitted. Team members may accommodate members of the press with story development or assignment support including interview scheduling, filming access, parking and security.
Media Policy
Members of the press must be escorted by a member of Shedd’s public relations team at all times while on campus.
Commercial filming guidelines
Production companies interested in information regarding permission, location fees, licensing, site tours, scheduling, filming and crediting should contact Amanda Enser, director of licensing at Shedd Aquarium.
All rights are managed for Shedd’s photos and videos. Anyone wishing to use Shedd’s photos or videos for commercial use should contact Amanda Enser.
Tripods
Typically tripods are not allowed in the aquarium. However, tripods are allowed to be used by members of the press, as long as a member of the public relations staff is present during the media’s time in the aquarium.
Flash/Lighting
For the health and well-being of our animals, flash and heavy lighting are not allowed in certain areas and exhibits of the aquarium. Lighting and use of flash must be discussed with a member of the public relations team before your visit.
