Lori Mosher works closely with the President and CEO of Shedd Aquarium to bring big-picture goals to life and maximize the organization’s impact. She partners with the Board of Trustees and senior leaders to advance the Centennial Commitment strategic plan, move key priorities forward and support Shedd’s work in the community and beyond.

As the Vice President, Office of the President and CEO, Mosher helps guide organization-wide efforts in governance, external engagement and overall effectiveness. Driven by the belief organizations thrive when clear vision, strong systems, shared values and diverse voices come together, her role centers on connecting people, ideas and strategies so the President and CEO can focus on what matters most: leading Shedd’s mission with clarity and impact.

Mosher has spent her career supporting leaders in mission-driven organizations to clarify strategy, strengthen teams and increase social and environmental impact. Before joining Shedd, she worked at UNRWA USA, a nonprofit supporting the humanitarian and development efforts of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, where she improved internal systems and helped expand support for essential programs. At FHI 360, a global human development organization focused on improving health, education and economic outcomes worldwide, Mosher contributed to international education initiatives working with teams to improve program effectiveness.

Her cross-sector experience—spanning nonprofits, international development and education—shapes her collaborative approach and commitment to meaningful, lasting change.

Beyond her professional experience, Mosher also brings a passion for conservation and the aquatic world to her role at Shedd. She is scuba certified, spent time as a volunteer aquarist at National Aquarium, and kayaks whenever she can during Chicago’s warmer seasons.
