Shedd Aquarium Elects Four Senior Executives to Board of Trustees

Shedd Aquarium, Chicago’s most visited paid cultural attraction and a national leader in animal care, conservation education and research, announces the election of four senior executives from leading local companies to its Board of Trustees: Julie Andreeff Jensen of Citadel; Jerry Krulewitch of McDonald’s; Andrew P. Nocella of United Airlines; and Richard Tobin of CNH Industrial N.V.
“I am excited about the tremendous mix of experience, skills, resources and incredible track records of proven leadership these four individuals are adding to our board at a pivotal moment in time,” said H. John Gilbertson Jr., a retired managing director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. who has served as Shedd Aquarium’s Board Chairman since 2015. “They are eager to play an important role in helping Shedd realize its strategic vision and will provide great value and perspectives.”
- Julie Andreeff Jensen, 44, is managing director and chief corporate affairs and communications officer for Citadel where she is responsible for leading internal and external communications, marketing and brand communications, executive communications and philanthropy for Citadel and Citadel Securities;
- Jerry Krulewitch, 53, executive vice president, general counsel & secretary for McDonald’s where he is focused on protecting the McDonald’s brand and values across the globe, overseeing the company’s global legal, compliance and regulatory teams. He also works closely with McDonald’s independent Board of Directors as their liaison to senior management;
- Andrew P. Nocella, 48, is executive vice president & chief commercial officer for United Airlines where he oversees United’s pricing and revenue management, network and commercial strategy, marketing functions and MileagePlus frequent flyer program; and
- Richard Tobin, 54, chief executive officer of CNH Industrial N.V. and brings extensive experience in international finance and management. Prior to the merger of Fiat Industrial S.p.A. and CNH Global he was the Chief Executive Officer of CNH Global and group Chief Operating Officer of Fiat Industrial S.p.A., roles he assumed after two years as Chief Financial Officer for CNH Global.

Shedd is governed by the Shedd Aquarium Society, composed of volunteer corporate, civic and community leaders that make up the 55-member Board of Trustees with the primary responsibility for governance oversight and fiduciary accountability, as outlined in the Society’s bylaws. The board provides strategic direction for institutional priorities through work in both governance and programmatic committees.
