Shedd Aquarium announced its week-long summer camp is now a virtual program that will transport learners to the aquatic animal world in a whole new way. Campers will meet animals, explore aquarium habitats and participate in interactive, hands-on activities, games to explore curiosities, aquatic-themed crafts and more. At a time when access to outdoor spaces is limited, “Summer Splash Camp: Stay Home” allows learners to look nature in the eye and feel inspired by the animals that share this blue planet with us.
The camp, designed for incoming K-2 and 3-5 graders, highlights all aspects of aquatic life, encouraging an affinity for learning and discovery by highlighting incredible animal adaptations, behavior and more. Each session will be facilitated by two Shedd learning team members who have experience engaging learners in virtual settings. Once registered, campers receive a virtual backpack with all the information and activity resources needed for the week.
Beyond Summer Splash Camp: Stay Home, Shedd Aquarium provides several digital learning initiatives for learners of all ages, and to learn more about those offerings, visit https://www.sheddaquarium.org/educators/stay-home-with-shedd.
