Open 9 am - 5 pm
Teachers at Shedd's Educator Open House work on an iPad activity in Polar Play Zone.
A closeup of a cardinalfish. With it s dramatic, sail-like fins and striking black stripes and white spots standing luridly out on its tan body, this relatively small three-colored fish packs a lot of flair.

Program Outcomes

Every Shedd program is evaluated so we never stop learning from you. Here’s what we’ve learned from our participants about our Educator Open House:

• Teachers develop their science-process skills by conducting investigations of the natural world.

• Teachers gain awareness of Shedd resources for science instruction, both in and out of the classroom.

• Teachers practice new science instructional strategies while engaging in activities designed for students.

• Teachers gain ideas from peers on integration of inquiry-based science instruction in the classroom.
