Guests dancing at Ritmo Del Mar event

WHAT: Following a successful inaugural evening earlier this year, Shedd Aquarium is celebrating two additional dates for its new after-hours event, Ritmo del Mar. The vibrant evening program provides guests with the opportunity to enjoy a night of music, cuisine, culture and mesmerizing animals with an aquatic backdrop like nowhere else in Chicago.

Guests ages 21+ are invited to sip specialty drinks and dance to the sounds of Latin American and Caribbean music. This magical event will allow visitors to immerse themselves in an energetic culture while looking nature in the eye. Throughout the evening, guests can take part in animal chats with experts in both English and Spanish, games of lotería, bachata dance lessons, and, once the sun has gone down, watch fireworks over the city skyline.

Guests will also be able to explore the galleries and meet the animals, including beluga whales, stingrays, otters, and many other aquatic creatures, with most exhibits remaining open into the evening.
