Shedd Aquarium announced its week-long summer camp program will return onsite to bring learners grades K-5 face-to-face with aquatic animals. Campers will explore aquarium habitats, participate in outdoor activities and games to explore curiosities, create aquatic-themed crafts and more. Camp Shedd: Summer Splash allows kids to discover the impressive aquatic animal world and uncover unique adaptations during this engaging program.
Shedd’s educators and learning innovators facilitate the summer camp to bring learners closer to the aquarium’s mission to spark compassion, curiosity and conservation for the aquatic animal world. Some of the most engaging, impactful experiences begin by meeting animals and looking nature in the eye. This program is designed to spark learners’ interest in science, animals, our blue planet, and much more.
This in-person program will be facilitated with safety precautions in place, including but not limited to, mask-wearing, social distancing, and health screenings. Campers’ safety is a top priority at the aquarium. For those looking for virtual resources, please visit Shedd’s website: https://www.sheddaquarium.org/learn-and-explore/.
