About the Barrier reef chromis
The barrier reef chromis, also known as the yellowback puller, is easily recognizable from their coloration: a dark band extending from their eye to their dorsal fin, above which is yellow-ish brown.
Did you know?
Their species name nitida is from the Latin for shining or glittering, presumably in reference to their silvery sides.
A type of damselfish, the barrier reef chromis lives in larger schools than most of their family.
For protection they often swim in groups, or shoals, with the black-axil chromis.
