Teen Nature Days General Questions

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.

Programs take place rain or shine. Teen Nature Days are subject to cancellation at any point leading up to the program if signs of severe weather are present or predicted.

Absolutely! The River Discovery Tour is accessible for all levels, from beginner to advanced. You’ll receive basic kayaking instructions before going out on the river. Shedd staff will assist you with getting in and out of the kayak. Previous successful kayaking experience is recommended for the River Exploration tour.
