Did you know?
- Blue rockfishes don’t migrate, but they do travel long distances vertically, following prey and rising waters. They range from depths of 1800 feet all the way to the sunlit surface.
- Rockfishes are long-lived; the oldest known blue rockfish lived 44 years. Scientists can tell a fish’s age by checking a bone in its ear that has microscopic growth rings.
