Animal Encounters

Sea Lion Encounter

Ages: 6+
Cost: Adults $134.95, Child (6-11) $124.95, Members $108.95

Meet a sea lion! During this 45-minute up-close encounter, you will go behind the scenes and interact with Shedd's California sea lions.

Witness the incredible relationship Shedd's animal care team members have with the sea lions while also learning about the challenges these animals face in the wild and the importance of rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

Admission to the aquarium is included with the purchase of a Sea Lion Encounter.

Shedd Scouts: Oceanography Merit Badge

Ages: Scouts in grades 6 - 12
Cost: $45 ($40 for members)

Do you wonder what’s beneath the waves? Do you want to learn more about our aquatic world? Explore with us as we take a deep dive into the different branches of oceanography. We’ll cover topics ranging from ocean topography, water chemistry, and—of course—aquatic life! Guided by Shedd experts, you’ll complete prerequisites beforehand, and leave with the Boy Scouts of America Oceanography Merit Badge!
